Default Best discount card in Australia ?

Do any of the cards give you discounts off Oz train passes or
airfares?

Someone told me the YHA discounts are for places so far out the way,
they're not worth much. Any comments?
What kind of discounts can you get with YHA in Canada and the U.S.?

Someone told me that the YHA discounts are for places so out the way,
they're practically worthless.

Any comments?

YHA from train fares I believe. Not air.

See http://www.yha.com.au/membership/discounts/ - plenty of them are in
popular spots.
