Default Archaeological Tours or Far Horizons Tours

Does anyone have experience they can share with either of these two
tour companies: Archaelogical Tours (based in NYC) or Far Horizons
(based in California)? I'm considering both for a trip to Gansu and
Xinjiang next year, but would like to hear recommendations, good or
bad, from others who have used them. Thanks!

You could easily organise the trip yourself. Just book the flight to
China. You do not even need to book hotels in advance (assuming that
China relaxes again their visa requirements). See my trip to Xinjiang
and Gansu for example:

Very impressive Alfred. Are all those photographs taken with an Olympus
camera?

The camera actually is not so important, as long as the lens is good and
the sensor is not too bad (even the cheapest DSLRs nowadays perform
well, if you use good glass). I might add that I shoot everything in
RAW, as I don't trust the JPEGs of the cameras.

Looks like you had a really interesting trip and those are some great
shots. I'm looking to be a litle less independent than you were, in
part because I'm interested in some of the more off the beaten path,
more difficult to get to sites. I'm willing to pay a reasonable amount
for someone who can help with that.

Where exactly are you planning to go?
