uhh... it's the pacific northwest. it's wet. bring layers,
including fleece and a rainshell. bring waterproof boots.

if you don't, of course you'll need it, and if you do, you won't.

I just checked the monthly precip for Portland, OR and it is less than half
in June and July than what I'm used to here in the Northeast in June and
often negligible rainfall in July.

I know it rains a lot in the Northwest in the winter, but the summers appear
to be pretty dry.

Did a more detailed check: Average precip in Portland in June is 1.53
inches, in July it is 0.70 inches. In comparison, where I live, we get 2.3
to 3.4 inches of precip all year, every month.

Portland indeed gets more total precip but not in the warm weather months.
