Default September long weekend

I've been looking all over to find a nice cool place to go to for the
september long weekend. Me and a couple of friends are planning for the
trip. Please suggest some places... Requirements: Cool (i'm in
phoenix.. hehe), and scenic beauty (again...i'm in phoenix), and some
adventure...

Have you considered New England for the Fall colors? Although the
leaves turn at various times, you could check www.leafpeepers.com to
see what the current state of the colors are

The White Mountains of Arizona. Flagstaff. San Diego (I believe
the California heat wave has broken).

How about Winter Park in Utah to enjoy the mountain area there? The
temperature should be quite comfortable compared to Phoenix in Sept.

What about Prescott? Not far away, and MUCH nicer climate.

Seattle, WA
Sequoia/Kings Canyon, National Parks www.nps.gov in CA
North Rim of Grand Canyon

CA heat wave has not truly broken, though it is 20 degrees cooler than
it was. September is our hottest month of the year, though mild by AZ
standards almost any time.
Try Oceanside CA www.rentthisplace.net/oceanside.htm (though I'm
already booked for Labor Day)

A lot depnes on how close to the ocean you are and whether the
marine layer has moved in.
