Search for a good accomodation in SFO

Hello

I am from Germany and want to find a nice and cheap accomodation in
SFO. Do you have any suggestions for me? I will go to a language
school in Berkeley and need something like a b&b or guesthouse or a
guest family ... I have searched by google but the b&b are up to 150
per night and something like this, it is to expensive for me.

oh, note: i am a woman, 35 yrs old, and alone!

whats about travel alone and safety ?

SFO is the airport, I doubt you want tolive there

Sounds like you should be looking Berkeley not San Francisco
unless you want to do a LOT of commuting


The Language school you are attending should have a
list of approved accommodation. You may want to consider a
homestay type package where you rent a room
from an American family, this will cost around $200-250
per week

Be careful of accomodation in the Oakland area, there
are some rather rough neighborhoods there.

I suggest you contact Berkeley's housing department, which may be on the
web. You might be able to get discounted housing by arranging for your
room through Berkeley's housing office.

I think you mean UC Berkeley's housing office. Berkeley (the city) don't
have a housing office. And I am not sure if the OP is taking a language
course thru UC Berkeley.

To the OP, it may be possible to stay in a dormitory at UC Berkeley,
depending on what time of year you are going to be there. Checking with the
University housing office. Rental housing around Berkeley is going to be
expensive.
