Default QM2 Vs. RCCL

Did Warren Davis apply? I see this humongous, Clockwork Orange sized
dildo.........

It wouldn't be any worse than some of the 'art' presented on other ships.
Besides, it's already been done - just take a look at the Cunard funnels.

I've seen the QE2 a number of times over the years in various ports, and I
can't ever remember it not looking shabby looking... I'm always wondering
why they can't put a decent coat of paint on her.

Tom,

Where's the engineer in you? QE2 spends a LOT of time at sea at high speeds
with a day here and there in port. This takes a toll on the hull and there
isn't much time to paint. Tropical cruisers that are in port nearly every day
are continually painted and always seem to look pristine from afar. But take a
close look sometime. They always have a patchwork quilt look to them.

All transtatlantic liners look "shabby" and in need of a decent coat of paint,
especially after a multi-day run.

He should see what the hull of a ship looks like after it has gone
through the Panama Canal. He would probably freak.

What is a Cunard-specific approach to shipbuilding, Ben? Cunard,
under Carnival Corp or otherwise, has not built a new ship in a very
VERY long time.

Did Cunard build the SeaGoddess ships?

On the flip side... it isn't hitting docks all the time either.

But I see your point. Still if it's sitting in NYC and nobody is bothering
to paint it..

Tom, you're right about perceptions.

Very capable.

blinking eyes, blush reddening

Knowledgeable.

ALL lips aflame

Bitter?

Not to be semantic (well, yes I am), if you mean...

(2) : marked by cynicism and rancor bitter contempt....

Cynical, you bet ya'; rancorous, most probably, contemptible, full of
it for some folks especially the dishonest and the two-faced.

However, then the biggest part of me (outside of my
doublebreastedness, of course):

"I come home in the morning light
My mother says when you gonna live your life right
Oh mother dear we're not the fortunate ones
And girls they want to have fun
Oh girls just want to have fun

The phone rings in the middle of the night
My father yells what you gonna do with your life
Oh daddy dear you know you're still number one
But girls they want to have fun
Oh girls just want to have

That's all they really want
Some fun
When the working day is done
Girls - they want to have fun
Oh girls just want to have fun

Some boys take a beautiful girl
And hide her away from the rest of the world
I want to be the one to walk in the sun
Oh girls they want to have fun
Oh girls just want to have

That's all they really want
Some fun
When the working day is done
Girls - they want to have fun
Oh girls just want to have fun,
They want to have fun,
They want to have fun...
Girls Just Want To Have Fun
C. Lauper

Now, do I like folks taking my Hubby away for weeks at a time for no
other reason than stupid, overdone laws that are applied in all the
wrong places?

Bitter.

Past bitter, Ben, well past bitter.

Most people live their lives, Ben, trying to do the impossible. Make
everyone happy, make people like them; they give their power away and
I will have none of it. They think they are being "right" or
"christian" or some other such horse**** when what they really are is
doing is passing through living life with a pathetic excuse.

Btw, thank you for your comments. Appreciated. Including the "bitter"
one.

No ****. How many multic-colored Mao Tse Tung's can one take?

LOL

Warren, you're winning my heart. I think of you every time I see the
hull at the bow of a cruise ship.

This pic in particular.

The bulbous bow of QM2.

Notice how I avoided any "stern" or "aft" jokes in deference to your
humor.
