White House deluged with petitions for secession by 23 individual
States

Monday, November 12, 2012

"In the wake of the Nov. 6 election, petitions seeking to secede from
the union have been filed on behalf of 23 states on the White House
website, https://petitions.whitehouse.gov/petitions. Most of the
petitions contain the same wording and ask to withdraw “peacefully”
from the United States in order to form independent governments....

...the White House may have to take the requests seriously...
"...people believe that their elected state leaders are more in tune
with their needs than those of the federal government,”....

.....the petitions could be the start of something big, such as the
first call for a constitutional convention...."

"Treason doth never prosper: what’s the reason? Why, if it prosper, none
dare call it treason." John Harrington (16th century), also the inventor
of the water closet.

In what way, exactly, were they not traitors?

Oh, I only wish it were true, and these were valid petitions,
resulting from citizen's referendums and signed by state governors,
instead of a just being a moronic, Republican PR gimmick.

As a matter of fact put me down for $1000 to be donated to the first
Southern state that actually secedes.

Simply because the 'Red States' are comprised of an inordinate number
of more minorities on welfare paying no income tax compared with the
"Blue States". There happens to be overwhelmingly larger number of
takers versus makers in the "Red States"( more than the national 47%).

Do the math yourself. Googling can help you in retrieving the raw
data.

Take Alabama for instance

From wiki:

"Race and ancestry

According to the 2010 U.S. Census, Alabama had a population of
4,779,736. In terms of race and ethnicity, the state was 68.5% White
(67.0% Non-Hispanic White Alone), 26.2% Black or African American,.."

A Portrait of Black America on the Eve of the 2010 Census

What the most recent U.S. Census report tells us now.
⦠: February 10, 2010 at 6:27 AM

⦠There are 40 million black Americans on the eve of the 2010 Census.
We are 12.3 percent of the U.S. population down from 14.8 percent of
the population in 2000. African Americans became the nation’s second-
largest minority group in the first decade of the 21st century.
WHERE WE LIVE
More than half of black Americans live in the South
