FA Madras India vintage history Sir Charles Oakeley 1905
Memories of Madras by Sir Charles Lawson 1905 some foxing to first/
last pages, wear to extremities of boards, otherwise a good sound copy. 313 pages. This is a georgeous book on the early history of Madras,it's culture, people and buildings. It comes from (and bears the coat of arms in the form of a decorative bookplate) the private library of the 4th Baronet Sir Charles Oakeley, descendant of his namesake the first governor of Madras from 1790-1794. Extremely scarce book. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.d...e=STRK:MESE:IT |
