Next time, book an aisle seat or better yet, go to business class if you could afford it. You aren't always stuck. You can leave the flight. If economy is full, you could ask for an upgrade. Sometimes you might be stuck, but personally, I think the airline should remove the person taking part of your seat space. your personally thinking that doesn't do any good though you can leave the flight -- disrupting your trip, missing your connections, being late for your meeting -- some choice You certainly have the right (and the obligation) to complain and to request a change of seat for one or the other. Certainly, the airline may refuse to do anything and even put you off the flight. But always remember, the airline and its employees really don't want a number of other pax and the readers of public forums whether they be ngs or newspapers to hear or read of "airline mistreating passenger whose seat was taken by a tubby." Unfortunately, the alternative may be an worse seat, in the "middle", or none at all, but unless folks try, the situation will go unmet and happen again and again. That's why WN changed its policy and enorces a two ticket rule when other seats may not be available. TMO |
