Port Everglades Fully Operational After Hurricane Frances

Port Everglades is fully operational in the aftermath of Hurricane
Frances. The first ships began arriving at 5 a.m. today, September 6.
All security checkpoints are open.

By 10 a.m., a total of 18 ships had docked at Port Everglades
including three petroleum ships, eight cruise ships and seven
container ships.

The three petroleum tanker ships began offloading fuel this morning.

All cruise ships scheduled to arrive Saturday are in port as of this
morning. Cruise ships in port include Caribbean Princess at Berth 2,
Century at Berth 18, Enchantment of the Seas at Berth 25, Zuiderdam at
Berth 26, and Regal Empress at Berth 21. Sovereign of the Seas was
diverted from Port Canaveral and went to Berth 19.

Further information about scheduled cruises can be obtained directly
from the cruise lines.

The administrative offices of the Broward County Port Everglades
Department at 1850 Eller Drive, excluding Operations and Security, are
closed today for the Labor Day holiday, but will reopen on Tuesday,
September 7 at 8:30 a.m.
