Default passport checks

Check-in for flight. Passport is scanned/checked. Boarding card says
'DOC OK' which I guess confirms my passport has been checked at check-
in.

Present boarding card to security, who insist also on seeing my
passport. First time I have seen this.

Next go to gate. Before getting to gate I have to go through... you
guessed... 'passport control'. Passport is checked again (3rd time).

At the gate (directly behind passport control) my passport has to be
checked by the nice lady who puts boarding cards through the machine.

Then, on the gangway to the aircraft there is another person there
to... check my passport before I board.

So five passport checks for an intra-EU flight... can anyone beat this
record..?

EMA - DUB via Ryanair - Passport checked at check in, by the guy at the
entrance to security queue for departures, again before going through the
metal detectors, there's a police control as I walk to the gates who wants
to see it, the Ryanair lady wants to see it before they'll let me walk out
towards the plane and then again on the plane there's someone who wants to
see it. So I make it six.

It'll be sooooo much easier when you have a chip implanted in your
neck. You won't even know who's scanning you...

Bombay arrivals late Feb 2006 (It's a lot better now)

Cops who allow you into the immigration hall

Immigration

Cops who let you out of the immigration hall.

Cops at entry to luggage/customs area

Cops who usher you into area where the luggage is scanned.

Cop who scans your luggage

Cop who collects your customs declaration slip

Plain clothes cop being nosy standing in middle of exit corridor.

Cop who lets you out of the terminal building

I make that nine, but it seemed like more at the time...

I've seen things you people wouldn't believe.
Barbeques on fire by the chalets past the castle headland
I watched the gift shops glitter in the darkness off the Newborough gate
All these moments will be lost in time, like icecream on the beach
Time for tea.
