Default General Question?

We stayed at the Royal Solaris Caribe in Cancun. The location was ok.
The sun set earlier in the day due to the location of the hotels down
southern strip. Air Conditioning insuite was mediocre but it was
early winter when we went. Constant renovations of the complex plagued
us but really didn't impact us too badly. Too often, we have to
"fight" for a decent room as often was the place. The initial room was
very noisy as they had placed us in a room on top of an AC building.
Perhaps this is indicative of all of Mexico. We also stayed at the
Yalmakan before it turned into a dump. Everything was super there,
except the food was only average.

All and all, we would like to go again to Cancun this year but it
doesn't seem to be the case as prices have gone up a lot. We are a bit
wiser so we know of hotels to avoid, but don't know of any good
economical ones. 7 days for a holiday is just not enough (perhaps
that's why North Americans are so stressed), we would like 10-14
minimum.
