Barcelon transport from airport

Hope someone can help.
We've booked some flights and apartments in Barcelona - Blasco de Garay =
and I am just wondering about the easiest and most economical way to get =
from the airport with 3 kids plus luggage. Don't really want to rent a =
car as we won't be going far a field anyway, if we do it'll be day trips =
on the train or bus.

Can anyone recommend transfer companies or taxis??

The station is liked to the city centre by both train and bus services.

Metro is cheapest. The practicalities would depend on how much luggage you
are carrying.
There is also a shuttle bus from outside the airport.

(Assuming you are landing at the main Barcelona - El Prat airport, and
travelling to the Blasco de Garay thats near Poble Sec metro)

I beleive the most economical way of getting from the airport to
Blasco de Garay would be the R1 Renfe train from the airport railway
station to 'Barcelona - Sants' station in the city, and then change
onto the L3 metro to 'Poble Sec' station.

This could cost you as little as 60c per person with the right ticket.

However, there is a 5 to 10 min walk (part is on travelators), from
the terminal building to the railway station, and probably another 5
to 10 minute walk from the nearest metro to your apartment, plus
changing trains at Sants is never fun either.

The next cheapest method would be the Airport bus from right outside
the Airport terminal bulding, to Barcelona - Sants or Playa de
Catalunya, and then taking the L3 Metro from there to Poble Sec.
This would cost about 3-4 euro each.
This saves the walk to the railway station at the airport, but you
still have to walk from the metro, and change modes of transport.

Unless you speak spanish or Catalan, I would guess it would be
difficult trying to arrange a private hire mini-cab to meet you at the
airport.

I think the most recommended method of traveling into Barcelona when
you have lots of children and luggage, is to just to take one of the
standard Barcelona taxis from straight outside the terminal.

Metered taxis in Barcelona are supposed to be very good value, and the
airport is actually not very far from the city, plus it would save you
a great deal of hassle straight after landing in a new city.

Im not sure of the exact cost, as I've not used a taxi from the
airport, but I beleive it is something in the region of 25 - 30 Euros.
Hopefully someone else will be able to confirm the exact taxi fare.
