Default Cruise Questions

Keep reading the newsgroup, Chuck, you will find lots of good
information here.

You have several ships to choose from in Galveston, Houston and New
Orleans. The Grand Princess will be cruising out of Galveston,
beginning in November. Carnival and Royal Caribbean are doing 7-day
cruises out of Galveston, Norwegian is doing a 7-day cruise out of
Houston.

If expense is a problem, do not cruise during school breaks, this is
when the prices are higher. Take your son with you. Cruising is a
wonderful experience for children, adding a 3rd person to your cabin
should not be very expensive.

Food is available 24 hours a day on Carnival and Princess. Room service
is available on all cruise lines at no charge.

Becca -----only 3 weeks before I cruise again...

I have never been on a cruise, my wife has been on one, a Carnival cruise.

I would like to go one a cruise, but don't really know what to look for, so
I have come to the experts in hopes of getting some information. I hope that
I'm not asking too much here...

1) We would prefer to cruise from Galveston, TX or New Orleans, LA (I think
they cruise from there). We are in DFW area, and want to avoid airfare.

2) Could care less about a casino. If it's there we may send $50 or so, but
we won't be disappointed if there isn't one onboard.

3) I would think that a room with a window would be nice, but is it really
worth the extra money?

4) I work nights, so I keep weird hours. I would like a cruise that offers
hamburgers or something late nights if needed.

5) We have a 9 year old son that would like to cruise with us. Should we
leave him at home or take him?

6) As far as the cost of the cruise, we really don't have much to spend, so
we need to keep the cost as low as possible.

7) The length of the cruise isn't that important. 7 day would be nice, but
probably out of our price range at this time. Time of year isn't important
either. We can go anytime.

Do you have any idea's or recommendations on a cruise?

Thanks...

Chuck

Yes... I see that! Thanks to everyone who replied!

I didn't know that they cruised out of Houston. I reckon that's close enough
to Galveston for me!

One more question... I know that you mentioned that spring break is an
expensive time to go, what time of the year do the cruises cost less?

Thanks...

Chuck

In the fall, September through mid December. The second week of DEcember
they hit rock bottom. Except for Thanksgiving.

In January right after the new year. By late January prices are back up.

To get a good idea of the cost of cruises together with a nice list of
cruises available, check Vacations to Go

www.vacationstogo.com

I have never booked with them as I prefer a live travel agent, and
would advise that especially for a first cruise.
