St. Petes Beach
Hi, We are travelling from the UK in August and are looking to make a
reservation for a decent hotel which is good with kids (13 & 11). I have been looking at the Holiday Inn Hotel & Suites ST. PETERSBURG BEACH, the tall one. We stayed in Clearwater 2 years ago at the Best Western Sea Wake and it was beautiful... I want to make sure we select something as nice but hopefully better! Any help will be really appreciated. I am prepared to go further south if needs be. Thanks Darren |

Darren, I don't want to recommend specific hotels, but I do think that with
children that age you'd prefer the town of Clearwater Beach. It's much more laid back, the traffic is slower, and they'll find many things to do, and lots of others their age to do them with. You should like it, too. For the most part, you can park the car and just enjoy the beach and the little town. "Darren UK" wrote in message om... St Petersburg Beach is a long strip of motels on the highway; Clearwater Beach is a compact, walkable town-like area. (Just returned from there Monday!) As noted in the other St Petersburg thread, you might try Anna Maria Island, on the south tip of Tampa Bay, for a change of pace. It will likely be more expensive than Clearwater, however; check hotels first Fort Myers, further south, is a good alternative to Clearwater. |
