Danish Candy Smugglers
According to the Copenhagen Post huge amounts of candy (along with beer and
wine) are being smuggled into Denmark. "Danes seeking to bring cheap beer, candy and other goods to Denmark from Germany should take heed of the tightened control checks at the border - including at the less travelled crossings, reported public broadcaster DR. Over 19,000 cans of beer, hundreds of litres of wine and soft drinks, and huge quantities of candy have already been confiscated by border police in planned actions over the past week coordinated by the tax authority, Skat." I thought that EU rules allowed you to bring what you wanted across any border. Isn't the whole business of the German/Danish border stores based on selling beer, wine and candy to be taken into Denmark? |
