Default A Brighter Place - International Student Web Portal (Barcelona Edition)

It is history in the making. Brighterplace.com is launched. And the
World Cup starts. But what is this website about? It is aimed at
international students who live in Barcelona and hate the
"touristy" side of it.

That's right. That ugly, ugly side that tourists love so much.
Sagrada Familia, Parc Guell, Picasso Museum, Joan Miro Foundation,
Gaudi this, Dali that etc, etc, etc. The list goes on and on. When we
say "ugly side", we don't mean that they are ugly sites as such.
On the other hand, they are beautiful. But aimed at and for tourists.
There are thousands and millions of tourist guides out there, so we are
not repeating them.

We do feel, however, that there is - here comes some of my busincess
vocabulary - a "gap in the market". That is to say, there is a lack
of a quality online publication aimed at international students living
in Barcelona. As you can read more in the "About" section, we want
to build an online community of likeminded students living in
Barcelona. Steering clear away from Puerto Olimpico and paellas on the
Ramblas. Your experience is invaluable to us.

The small list of housing lists, agencies, courses, bars, clubs,
restaurants and other at the launch of this site is nothing but the
start. The start of something huge. And we want - and need - you to be
a part of it. If everyone shares their experiences here in Barcelona,
we can all benefit from it. Don't be afraid and share!

Expect to see unprecedented "guerrila marketing campaigns" (that
damn business vocabulary again) in Barcelona to expose this website to
as many people as we can. And you can help too by telling your friends
in Barcelona about it...

And that's all I have to say about that.

Your Friends
