Has anyone been there recently? What did you think? Worth going?
Price seems good, reviews that I've read are mostly positive... Lemme
know. Thanks,

Rob

What are interested in? A resort in the sun that could be anywhere or
Puerto Plata?
There are several web sites that give a choice of places run by the owner
and very personal service. And you can always dress up loose some money at
the Jack Tar casino.

Actually, I don't care where it is. Somewhere in the sun with a nice
beach, clean room, and no rats running around if I can help it. I've
checked about a billion websites to date ( I am actually getting
googley eyes) (pun intended). Any ideas or thoughts would be helpful.
Thanks!!!!

I was at the Jack Tar in November and enjoyed the adults only concept.
It makes for a more romantic stay if you don't have someone else's
porch monkeys running around.
I found the beach to be rather narrow and the surf was so rough that
the staff sometimes would not let you take out the watercraft. There
are two pools and depending if you want quiet or active. One thing
that is not standard but can be requested is a mini fridge. We found
this useful for stocking beer, cokes, and water. As for the rest of
the resort like Gunner says what are you interested in. If it is
snorkelling or wind surfing go further east. If you just want to sit
and relax the Jack Tar is an excellent choice. The staff and service
were very good at this resort. I am going back to the DR in March but
I'm going to Sosua instead because the water is calmer. If you have
any questions feel free to ask.
