Crossing the Caspian Sea

He's coming from _Azerbaijan_, see above, so even more south. True, but getting to Atyrau is still easier. It would depend on the route he's going after that, I guess. And Atyrau would mean not crossing the Caspian. It's not exactly scenic. ;-)
