Celebrity Century
A few questions about this ship.
Is the specialty restaurant worth the cover charge ? How is the food on the ship ? What do they charge for drinks ? Martinis ? |

wrote in message ups.com... A few questions about this ship. Is the specialty restaurant worth the cover charge ? How is the food on the ship ? When we did our Baltics cruise on Century this past summer, I thought the food in the main dining room on most nights was every bit as good as the food in the specialty resturant. There was one night when they had lamb shanks in the dining room that I was disappointed in the food. You might consider going that night. I tend to like them from a service perspective. But the only one, out of all the ships I've been on, where I though it was REALLY worth the cover charge was on Mariner of the Seas, where the food in Chops was considerably better than the dining room food. But I don't think RCI dining room food is that good to begin with, so on RCI I think it's worth it. On Century, the service will be impecible... but the food isn't that much better IMO. The goat cheese souflee is outstanding though. That's the one MUST TRY item. --Tom What do they charge for drinks ? Martinis ? |

Celebrity Century
We sailed on the Century prior to its renovation.
We have found the food and service on Celebrity ships to be outstanding for the price. Unlike some of the NCL ships. We just got off the NCL Spirit, service was awful and food was worse in the 'free' dining areas. We spent $50 to $100 a day for food in the cover charge restaurants. Food on Celebrity has always been so good we rejected the cover charge restaurants except when we were too tired to dress and so went to the Casual Dining restaurant. Service has always been top quality there too since most of the staff is undergoing rigorous training. We always tip at least the amount the main dining room suggests. We have booked 3 cruises in January, Celebrity Zenith and RCCL Enchantment OTC and are considering the Century again in early February. wrote in message ups.com... A few questions about this ship. Celebrity Century
We have sailed 9 times with Celebrity and will be doing so again in
about a month. 2 of those trips were on the Century and that is the one we will be on next month. We were on Zenith last month and as usual found the food and service excellent. Drinks run about $6-$7 average and the martini bar is very good. There are some daily specials for $5 and sometimes a 2 for 1 martini special. |
