jeffcoud wrote: Snorkeling I'd pick Bonaire and Dominica first! Very nice -- champagne snorkel in Dominica is very interesting and Klein Bonaire drift snorkel very good. Snorkeling with the turtles in Barbados can be fun too, although I've had great snorkeling in St Kitts too!! Id put St.Kitt's #3 after St. John's come to think of it. If they ever wanted to do "discover scuba" Bonaire would be the place as well....is offered as a tour by many lines. Yellow Submarine in Bonaire is a great company to try it for your first time! Thanks again, I am printing this out to give them!! St. Kitts is one of my favorite ports, but they aren't going there if they book the cruise we talked about. sue |

Snorkeling with the turtles in Barbados can be fun too, I am a little uncomfortable about snorkeling with turtles in case the turtles are afraid to come up for air and drown. I don't know about the Bahamas specifically, but I've always been told not to follow or snorkel over a turtle. although I've had great snorkeling in St Kitts too!! In practice, I give all such creatures plenty of space in the water! I have no need to pet a turtle/dolphin/sting ray/etc., or stalk em! Lol I like to keep my distance from other snorkelers as well so I don't get kicked in the teeth etc. lol. Jeff |
