I plan on visiting Canada soon, as I've never been there. I'm a single
24 y.o. male. I've been told Montreal is ideal because it is geared to
a younger, more partying crowd. But, what about Toronto, Ottawa,
Vancouver, Edmonton, Newfoundland, and Nova Scotia? These places
interest me also. Thanks.

I am sure that you will find lots of interest for a person your age in all
those spots.

Ottawa, from what I hear, sucks. A friend of mine spent two weeks there and
apparently the two most popular hangouts among girls our age (I'm also a 24
y/o guy) are fitness centres and malls. At least it means the girls are in
good shape. Bars close at 2am and you're not allowed to smoke in them which
can be very bizarre if you're used to smokey bars but great if you don't
like cigarettes. Most of the people I've met who are from Ottawa readily
admit that their city's nightlife sucks.

Back in the old days (tm) if you thought Ottawa was boring you go
to Hull.

Toronto is definitely above Ottawa. It's a big city with a good amount of
choice. A couple friends of mine went and stumbled across a gay Irish pub.
Wasn't their thing but just think about how much variety there has to be for
someone to try and find their niche in the market by opening a gay Irish
pub. Smoking laws are the same as Ottawa.

Vancouver has great weed. That's all I know.

Newfoundland's capital has cheap beer. Really cheap beer. While I wouldn't
guarantee it, a friend of mine from there said that 10 cent draft nights
aren't unheard of.

I don't know anything about Edmonton or Nova Scotia, so I can't help out out
there, but I am from Montreal so if you choose to come here, post another
message detailing your interests a bit more and I'll give you a few
suggestions.

Richard
