I, for one, am reading them avidly.

Thank you Caveat. As I was recently there (Kruger) doing 2 trips (I am a
tourist guide) I am interested to hear your opinion. We did manage to see
both lion and leopard, but we were much further North, and they were not
easy to spot. I'll put the pictures up in the next day or 2.

I used to live in Cape Town, and that's where I started my guiding career,
so it's with nostalgia I read about trips there. I still tour there as I'm
a National Guide, but seem to have had more Kruger trips just recently.

Your point Baveat?

Caveat, I have been reading all your reports with great interest.
There's simply been no reason to post replies. Your reports are very
well written, and an in-depth description of your trip. Collectively,
they make essential reading for anyone in a similar position who is
planning to visit South Africa.

I'm personally delighted that you gush about the trip in such a
complementary manner towards the country and the people. It's EXACTLY
the type of response I love to hear from visitors.

Keep 'em comming.

Hi Marc,

As you have correctly observed, the series was a trip report and
replies were neither expected nor required. The posts were indeed
intended to provide useful information for others who might be
planning a trip to South Africa -- both currently and in the future
(thanks to the Google archives). But they also served to provide
feedback to you and the others who helped me here last month. In that
regard, they were my thanks to all of you.

All groups have trolls, as we can see and I usually just ignore them.
But I do appreciate Catherine's and Michael's and your endorsement of,
and thanks for, my efforts anyway ... to which I will respond in the
charming word heard so often in South Africa: "Pleasure!"

Regards,

Cav

My wife and I sent 3 weeks in Cape Town over the Christmas period and
had a wonderful time.

I, for one, have greatly enjoyed Caveat's postings.
