South Africa: What is the max on withdrawing cash at ATM?
Hi there,
I go to Cape Town next week. What is the maximum amount of cash you can withdraw from a cash mashine (ATM)? I have got a VISA+ symbol on my card. Thank you. Regards, Andreas |

Usually one thousand Rand is allowed. But sometimes I managed to take 2000
out the ATM... If you need more than just visit more ATM's to get your hands on more cash! Reg. Hans. "Andreas Schmidt" wrote in message ... Hi there, I go to Cape Town next week. On one of my accounts there is a US$4 charge for each foreign transaction. It pays to make your transactions few and large. -- Photos and travelogues from Africa and Southeast Asia: http://www.exile.org |

Yes you're right. But my bank doesn't charge me anything ;-)

Depending on your bank at home there may be a "service" charge ... I am talking about the amount, the max. amount in ZAR. From my jouneys to Austria or Italy I know that there is a max. amount each time you draw cash. Does anybody know? Thanks, Andreas |

Hi Andreas,
At the bigger banks in and around major cities (Jo'Burg, Cape Town) you will be able to get your hands on 2000 ZAR at a time. At least 1000 ZAR is possible. |
