Trip Advisor (TripAdvisor) virus infection reports.
Over the last few months, Trip Advisor has been involved in a near
relentless campaign to cajole, harass, pester, bully and otherwise press its members into joining FaceBook. As part of the TA initiative to merge ever closer with FB, TA has applied software to enable its herded rank and file to conjoin their TA/FB memberships. However, on the TA dot com (.com) site, as opposed to the .UK site, there seems to have been a few, er, glitches. Members have faced the disturbing realization that TA has researched their status in another website (FB) and that TA has presumed the right to log its members out of an other website (FB), without any permission from those members to do so. Anyhow, in the last say, 24 hours, there have been reports within the TA forums by numerous individuals saying that whilst on TA, a "system tools" Trojan infected their computers. It has been suggested that those of us who visit online communities outside TA or FB ask there (here) if anyone there (here) has also been affected and this is to establish if the virus really came from TA, or the infection was but a coincidence. Here is one such tripadvisor forum discussion about the virus. http://www.tripadvisor.co.uk/ShowFor...or_better.html i... if you dare to open it. (personally I've had no problems) |
