Can tourist get refund of Denver, CO Sales Tax ?

I am an overseas traveller in Denver, CO. I want to buy a camera.
Can I get a refund of any sales tax I pay (7.2%) ? If so, how - at
Denver airport, at LA Airport, at the shop ?

I am not a tax lawyer. But I have read that Louisiana is the only
U.S. state that will provide a sales tax refund to international
visitors.

presence?

California maintains that you are liable for your local (state plus
county/city) sales tax even when ordering from out of state.

Not just California. I think most states have a "use tax" on out-of-state
purchases. You normally have to pay it on your state income tax form. Not
paying it is tax fraud.

Well, you can say whatever you want. But many California residents are
surprised when they return from oversea trips with purchases, and declare
them on their custom forms, only to receive a little notice from the
Franchise Tax Board for CA state tax.

A lot of out of state mail order firms, esp. the big ones that do a lot of
business in CA, are collecting CA sales tax.
