Will any of the Michelin three star (or similar) restaurants in Paris prepare
a
meal suitable for a vegetarian (no meat, fish, poultry)?

you might want to consider whether it is a total waste of money -- they
can probably put vegetables on a plate, but unless they specialize in
vegetarian foods it will hardly be worth the high price of a 3 star
restaurant

we found a great Afghan restaurant in the marais that our vegan brother
in law and vegetarian sister could enjoy and the food was cheap and
delicious --- but most three stars are pricey and meaty

What one recevies in a 3 star restaurant is more than a piece of meat on a
plate! One pays for the ambience, the preparation and the service all of
which must be much more than the ordinary.

I have heard that at least one of the great restaurants had started to put
more vegetarian fare in the menu since the mad cow and related scares.

We've eaten in rather high end (and high price) restaurants in many

cities,
including NY, London and Rome, that could cook a memorable meal for a
vegetarian, and are hoping there is something similar in Paris.

Go to www.chowhound.com and look at the International board. You can also
ask your questions there - you are sure to get a good number of informed
responses.
