Zanzibar and Tanzania

There are Many advertisements in SA newspapers for bargain trips to Zanzibar
from South Africa for 7 days. If I should fly from SA for a week in
Zanzibar, could I extend my visit to 2 weeks or 2 and a half weeks and what
else can I do? Can I add mainland Tanzania and how much can one cover in a
week. I do not need luxury and my interests are Cultural (local art/ craft/
music/ museums/ buildings) and Nature/ outdoor activities. Any suggestions
welcome. What is the best way to spend your time in this part of the world.
