"Alex" wrote in message ... Dear Elaine, I had mine clones when I was making a purchase in Geneva and subsequently someone used the cloned card to make a USD1,000 purchase in Washington. I suppose it can happen anywhere, it's just that Malaysian ones seem to be getting the most publicity at the moment. A friend of mine had hers cloned in KL a few weeks after me. At least she couldn't say I didn't warn her! Elaine |

Sabeng, your answer is overly simplistic which will lead to misunderstanding
and misinterpretation of the actual homeland security condition. -Alex "sabeng" wrote in message ... you will be ok as long as you don't borrow money from along. |

PLEASE make 100% sure that you are going to make your purchase before you
let them swipe your card because once they have swiped it, you can consider the transaction done. Even if you don't sign the transaction slip. You can bet 100% they won't ever refund your money if you change your mind. PLEASE make sure they don't swipe it twice because if they do, they are going to clone your card. Please observe them when they swipe your card. Please use your card only when you feel confident about the merchant. Please check the amount on the transaction slip before you sign it. And wear like you are a pauper of a tourist.:-) "Alfred Molon" wrote in message ... |

It should be pretty obvious that when we give the merchant our credit card, we already agree to buy. What if it were stolen? As had been the case so many times already. In fact, they can use it within the hour to break its credit limit. It is so unfair and unsafe that consumers in Malaysia should complain hard. |
