Somehow, the title of this thread reminded me that many of the hotels
in Utah come supplied with a copy of the Book of Mormon.

Possibly, but when we were in Salt Lake City for four days, six years
ago, the room we stayed in had no Book of Mormon. (Maybe we were
lucky.)

I remember SLC, although not with fondness. Their jail was very clean
though. Crazymother****ers insulted my non-white wife and I had to
bend. a couple of heads. This was about 1970, now they've changed
their evil ways I hear.

Mor(m)onism is an excuse to molest children for little but a tithe.

While we were there, we didn't cross paths with many of them, except on
the Saturday morning we headed downtown to ZCMI and walked up the
couple of blocks to Temple Square, where a couple of weddings had
occurred that morning. Sunday, we headed down to South Towne Center in
Sandy, and a number of the merchants in the mall were open for
business. (This was in 2001, about nine months before the Winter
Olympics came to town.)

My wife and I were traveling the US, now that i think about it the year
was 1971. We arrived in SLC just after a conference and at that time
downtown was chock full of huge motels with like 600 rooms. We went to
three and each time they were "full" although there may have been a
dozen, max, cars in the parking lot. This was because my wife is brown.

The third motel was staffed by young men. As we left one whispered to
his friend "and take your wetback with you." At that time I was just 2
years out of the service and bodybuilding with a very short fuse, I
decked him with one punch and was duking it out with the second while the
counter clerk called the police.

The police were very good Mor(m)ons. I spent two nights in the slammer
until my attorney convinced them that negative publicity would be bad for
Utah. I've not been back since and have nothing but scorn for Mor(m)ons.

They've apparently toned it down a bit in the three decades since then -
and just our luck, we were in SLC on Easter of 2001. We spent that day at
South Towne Center, as I mentioned, and after lunch we headed east on I-80
up Parley's Canyon, got a good look from several hundred feet above Echo
Lake, then up I-84 by the Devil's Slide, and then down US 89 from south
Ogden back into the city. There were a number of non-whites in the
suburbs...but I don't remember seeing any of them in either of the
Jordans. We also went up to the Brigham Young state park and monument on
Saturday, which had a fairly mixed group for the festivities. Early on
Friday, we headed up to the Golden Spike national historical park, then
cut over through Tremonton to get back to I-15 to go up to Malad
City...and in the small towns up along tne northern Wasatch, it was
basically a Klansman's dream. Needless to say, we didn't stop in any of
those villages.

In the 70's blacks weren't even allowed in the church, the were viewed
asanimals, not people. Even now blacks, according to 3rd hand info,
aren't permitted the same rights within the church although the crooks
demand 10% of their earnings.

Women are extremely subservient and expected to make lots of babies and
shut the **** up. Even when 2nd nd 3rd wives are taken, STFU.

Mor(m)onism, yet another bunch of crazymother****ers.

Does it bother you to know that they think you're worse than scum and
merely tolerate you because they find you useful for reasons you'll
never know?

Those can be considered in some sense necessities. Condoms aren't.

But I was also making a comparison to those who were complaining that
Bibles were in the room when the hotel isn't even paying for those.
Some seemed to quite offended that there are Bibles. Others can get
offended by condom kits.

I'm not Mormon and don't understand the religion. I find them

No, I do not. They don't have 'superior' beliefs, they have
'different' beliefs.

So-called "ethical" vegetarians think meat-eaters are murderers.

I'm not aware of any Christians who are calling for a woman to be
killed because she named a teddy bear something they consider
offensive.

No, they are duty bound by the bible to kill anyone who wears mixed
fabrics.
That is far more reasonable.

Of course, you and the OP make the mistake of confusing the words of
individuals with the actions of a government.

The actions of the government in Sudan are in no way similar to
the words of an individual in Boulder.

If these individuals in Boulder tried to act on their words, do you
believe that the Denver government would applaud them?

Do you believe that the government of Sudan has any such problems?
