Default Bangkok and Ko Samui

Hi,

We are planning a round the world in November this year and would like to
spend some time in Bangkok and one of the resorts. Currently Ko Samui looks
favourite.

Has anyone got any recommendations please for these areas - hotels etc. We
are 60 and would be looking at comfortable midrange accommodation. Also
where are the best places to go that are perhaps more on the quiet side
please?
Cheers,

Peter B,

In Bangkok I can recommend the Arnoma hotel at Rajdamri Road opposite
the World Trade Center. It is well situated in the middle of an
upscale shopping district and next to a skytrain station. Look on the
different booking sites for good Internet rates. Is is a comforatble
hotel with a nice outdoor pool on the 4 th floor.
At Koh Samui avoid the eastern side (Chaweng and Lamai beach) and
head for the northern part ( Maenam and Bhoput ). Beaches there are
quiet and there are several nice resorts in every price range
