Default An overnight stop in France

My family (me, my wife, and 3 kids(8,4,1)) are travelling to the South
West of France in August. I would like to stop somewhere around
Poitiers to break up the driving. I want something cheap just a bed
and breakfast would be fine. All hotels want to split us up into two
rooms which is no good and I cannot find a hotel that will take 5 in a
room. Any suggestions?

Realistically, you might have to accept the two rooms since renting an
apartment for one night is not likely. You have a two-parent family, so one
parent can stay in one room with 2 kids, and the other parent stays in a
room with 1 kid. It's possible there's a convenient campsite.

The other possibility is finding a hostel that would allow your family to
stay in one dorm room.

I'd contact them by phone immediately (because these places do book up
quickly) and tell them you want a room with 5 beds.

here is a list of hotels in France

I haven't tried them all but the best value for money was the
quickpalace chain
www.quickpalace.com, (excellent website) all rooms with shower and
satellite TV and buffet continental breakfast for less than £3pp. I
will use this company wherever possible for my next holiday in July
