Like it or not, most people do not look through the
archives of a news group. They simply post their
question and hope for an immediate answer.
Peter's group does actually provide that, IME
more so that the average usenet group.

It's actually much faster to do a quick search through the archives,
than to post a message and wait for an answer.

Oh I agree, but experience tells me that few do.
Probably because they don't know where to find
the archives.

Most of the time the same
question will have been put again and again, so an archive search will
give you an answer within seconds or minutes, while by posting you have
to wait for a day or two.
It's also interesting to simply browse through the threads.

And don't forget that Peter's list is moderated. The message has to
first be approved by Peter - which takes time and he might reject your
message - before it can actually make it to the list.

I didn't disagree with this point.

I killfiled him long ago. It's not worth wading through the
rank manure to discover the occasional pearl of wisdom.

I only see him when others unfortunately quote him.

Same here. I've killfiled Peter Neville a long time ago. His China list
is essentially useless, because a) all your posts will be filtered by

Reporting on his abuse to his Canadian ISP might help in long term. However,
Canadian providers are one of the most notorious in allowing attacks of this
kind against the usenet community in the name of "freedom of speech". His
role is quite obvious: the faggot is a spammer. The only reason the bedouin
frequents in rta is a pathetic effort trying to promote book sales of a few
outdated "travel guides".
