Default airfare

i am a college student who really wants to go back to NZ. the only
problem is the money needed for airfare. I understand it can be pretty
cheap to travel in NZ but the airfare is just entirely to expensive.
Are there any suggestions on how to get cheap airfare to NZ.

How long do you want to go for?
What month/s are you looking at departing the US?

Does your College have any on-campus travel agency?

Subscribe to web-only specials from

Qantas - www.qantas.com

Air New Zealand - www.airnewzealand.com

Note: most of these fares are for a max of 30 days and carry some very
hefty cancellation fees, are very restricted i.e. cannot be changed
etc.

They are mostly fares from LAX to Auckland or Christchurch, or San
Francisco to Auckland. Some may state add-on prices from say
Dallas-Fort Worth [DFW] however do contact QF and NZ for prices from
your nearest airport to LAX.

Suggest you do a search using orbitz as sometimes they can come up
with some 'interesting' routings example: it was cheaper for us to fly
Houston to St Louis/or Chicago/or Denver to California than to go
Houston-CA direct... It will give you some idea of what to expect.

There are other airlines such as:

www.airtahitinui.com which fly LAX-Tahiti-Auckland.

www.polynesianairlines.com which fly via Nadi, Fiji

Check to see if they offer web only fares/sign up for emails.
Try sites such as

www.orbitz.com

www.travelocity.com [IIRC they have a service which will email you
if a price drops].

Give me a couple of days and I will go back and do a search of other
sites I have previously posted.

Cath
