Default Travel advice : between Tsitsikamma and Kruger Park

Hello,

I'll be in South Africa next week, for 3 weeks.

On August the 18, I will visit the tsitsikamma park for 1 day, then I
have to be in the Kruger park on the 22 of August.
I have rented a car.

I'm looking for :

- Ideas about what I can do in-between
- Places to stay.

So far my rough idea was this one:

18 Evening, drive from tsitsikamma to coffee bay
19 visit coffee bay then in the evening drive to durban
20 visit durban then in the evening drive to st lucia
21 visit st lucia then ??????
22 arrive in the kruger park.

Thanks for any info, tip,etc.

drive via Swaziland and stay in the Ezulwini valley - check that you can
take your car to SZ first.

22 arrive in the kruger park.

Thanks for any info, tip,etc.

That sounds like a nice itinerary. You don't have to stay in Coffee
Bay, as there are lots of places along the way such as Qora Mouth,
Mazeppa Bay, Hole-in-the-Wall etc. When you get there you make the
choice. August is not high season, so you will probably find
accomodation easily.

The roads from the highway to the resort areas can sometimes be poor,
so hiring a sturdier vehicle will be an advantage (As it will be for
Kruger. Not for the roads, but for the improved visibility)

From St. Lucia it's a long haul to Kruger, and your route will be
determined by which camp you are staying at. You could go through
Swaziland.

Actually in Coffee bay I intended to visit hole-in-the-wall, I thought
it was close.

In Kruger Park I'll stay 4 days at Kurger Park Backpackers from where
I'll do trips in the park ( maybe I'll stay one night in the park )

A little correction on what would be the plan :
( just for information)
9-13 Loosely around cape town, (Hermanus, etc )
14-18 Loosely around Oudtshoorn ( Knysna, Bredasdorp, etc)
=========
This is the part that needs to be ironed out :

18 After a long hike in Tsitsikamma, We'll be probably too tired to
drive all the way to Coffee Bay, so I'd drive 153km to Port elizabeth.
19 Wake up early and drive 472 km to Coffee Bay. Go visit Hole in the
wall. And sleep at coffee bay
20 Wake up early and drive 419 km to Durban. Then perhaps try to do
some scuba diving in the afternoon, or we'll see. Stay the night in
Durban
21 Wake up early and drive 238 km to St Lucia. Visit a park or the
lagoon, and spend the night in St Lucia.
22 Wake up early and drive to Kruger Park, hopefully via swaziland
====================
23-25 Kruger park
26-27 Victoria falls

If you have time, on the way out visit the Blyde River Canyon.
