Default Kepler, Routbern and Milford during October

We wish to do trekking in Kepler, Routbern or Miford.
From the DOC site we saw that the huts might not have any fuel for

hitting.
Does any one know when DOC equipps the huts? Will it be only at the
official opening day or before? If it before how many days before (in
avarage)
Thanks
Ady

Excellent idea. These are Great Walks and you do need to book.

From the site;

" Bookings opened on 1 July 2005 for the Great Walks summer walking
season (25 October 2005 to 28 April 2006 inclusive). More information
on how to book online (explore online booking )

http://www.doc.govt.nz/Explore/004~O...king/index.asp

Online booking system doesnt seem to be working fro me though

Huts will have gas during the dates above and very unlikely to have
any outside these dates.

While you are in the area you may like to tackle the Tuatapere Hump
Ridge Track.
