The low level press-release recyclers at cheapflights wish you to know
that a travel insurance company thinks you should consider visiting
Albania:

"""
If you had to predict the holiday hot spots for 2007 I bet the likes
of Libya and Albania wouldn't be high on your list.

But travel insurer Europ Assistance believes these two countries,
alongside Morocco, Dubai and India are the places where more of us
will be holidaying next year.

The insurer has seen changes in the insurance needs of customers and
has been developing a medical network in these countries to help
people if they fall ill or have an accident.
"""

I'd say you couldn't make it up, but they clearly did.

Talking to people who have been to Libya so it
has some excellent seaside resorts but with a ban
on alcohol in place its unlikely to get any club 18-30
resorts in the near future.

I will be definately visiting Morocco this year, and I think it's very
likely that I'll be visiting albania - I'm not sure why it's a
surprise?

Libya has one of the best preserved Roman ruins, one of the only
significant Greek ruins remaining, the Sahara desert, and a capital
city that few Westerners have seen. It won't be the next Ibiza by any
means, but I can see it attracting travellers who are interested in the
ancient world or in Arab/Islamic culture.

Anyone remember that film with Peter Ustinov pretending to swim?
Apparently it was shot on the beach somewhere in Albania.

There are plenty of countries around with similar attractions. It is
the hinderances that matter, not least of which would be the airfare
to an unpopular place.
