Default Cruise Line Fuel Surcharges

Any other cruise lines join Crystal, Discovery, and Radisson Seven Seas
in implementing a fuel surcharge? I understand that Crystal imposed the
surcharge on all who had not fully paid as of this past July 14 or 15.
Isn't that the equivalent of adjusting a contract after it has been
signed. I guess these cruise lines want passengers to pay for their
poor judgment in estimating fuel costs. Or perhaps they want to
implement a fare increase without calling it a fare increase. I guess
that is kinda like a governmental body calling a tax a user fee.

Not the equivalent of adjusting a contract but taking advantage of the terms
in it. As always the Cruiselines have it covered. All will have something
like the following

"Guarantee and Rate
Once we have received your deposit or full payment, the cruise rate is
secure except in the event of substantial increases in operating costs,
tariffs or taxes prior to the sailing date. In such cases, we reserve the
right to add a surcharge"
