Broadway Availablity Ticket - Phantom/Cats/etc
Hi all,
I'm going to NYC at the end of April - does anyone know the availability of broadway tickets - in particular Phantom of the Opera? Are tickets for Phantom easy to get at the discount ticket outlets... or should I pre-buy the tickets? I'll be in NYC on April 27th - April 30th. Thanks for any info! |

Check broadwaybox.com or playbill.com for discount tickets. You can use these for advance purchase or simply bring them to the box office when you arrive in town. |

I bought advance discount tickets for Phantom in February. If you can go to a performance on M-Th, you can get advance discount tickets without having to wait in line on the day of the show. For Fri/Sat, you might get lucky at the Times Square or Financial District ticket booth, but you'll basically spend most of a whole day on this venture, which isn't a good use of your time. So try to go to the show on Thursday April 27th, and buy the discount tickets in advance. See "http://www.broadwaybox.com/shows/the_phantom_of_the_opera_nyc_tickets.aspx?s=116" So for Phantom, go to broadwayoffers.com and use code "PHHSC45" You can get tickets for $65 each, plus the junk charges, for a total of around $145. Actually this site says that only Saturday night is excluded, so you might be able to get Friday tickets. I picked up the tickets at will-call a few minutes before the show. Mine were a little less than $65, but they raised the price in April apparently. Bring some good binoculars, not the $10 ones. The mid-week shows probably have more understudies than the weekend shows. |
