Doubt it. They do work on the NJ Turnpike and GS Parkway at night to
minimize traffice delays.

Different organization. EWR is managed by the Port Authority of NY and
NJ, a bistatal organization. NJT and GSP by a NY organization. EWR has
always been the poor step child of the Port Authority.

Default Avoid EWR in Sept

I missed the first part of this thread and can't seem to find it on my news
server -- but to comment:

I made a connection at EWR on Monday (9/8) and I would agree completely that
avoiding EWR this month would be wise (if possible). One of the major 'N/S'
runways is closed for re-paving which is causing both arrival and departure
delays.

On Monday evening arrivals were coming in on the one open 'N/S' runway from
the south to the north and most departures (other than a few heavies) were
departing on the cross-wind runway to the E. My inbound was delayed 30
mins b/c of the runway situation and then my connecting flight was delayed
as well waiting for the inbound a/c to arrive and again getting out to the
runway for t/o. Our departure was on the cross-wind runway to the east,
which was a new one for me (as I'm used to the N/S pattern that is typically
used at EWR between the two parallel runways).

Best,

Steve
