Vacation Packages?

I am trying to take a 5-7 night trip to Hawaii or the Mexican Riviera
and am wondering about vacation packages. I was trying to piece a few
differnt things together and found a package feature on Orbitz. I saw
a few trips in my $550-650 range which is great and the packages look
really good with airfare and hotels, I was just wondering what others'
luck had been with this orbitz feature. I've used them for flights
before and had good luck, so I'm inclined to give it a try, its just a
"big" trip for me.

1. Make sure to check out the hotel using other web sites.

2. Don't expect to get a great room.

3. Other than that, works fine.

You don't say where you're coming from, where you're going, for how long,
or how many people. Since I know that contract air to Hawaii from LAX or
SFO runs, on a good day, $350-400, therefore that's not allowing a fair
amount of money for a room, not to mention a car.

Having stayed in places where I could hear the people in the next room
breathe (not in Hawaii, though I know people who *have* stayed in places
like that there), I prefer a higher standard of accommodations.

Can you be more specific about what you found?
