Default Belize excursions question

cruise line excursions to ruins in Tulum:
You take ferry to mainland then board a bus to the ruins. On excursion I
took, the ship provided a boxed lunch, soda or beer was offered by tour
guide. this was six hours total. Was at the ruins about two hours.
We didn't do anything in Cozumel , no time,If I go to Cozumel again
I will swim and snorkel at the beautiful beaches.
Have a great cruise, hope this info helps.

Default Belize excursions question

The Mayan ruins on Cozumel itself are scarecely worth visiting. If you
take a ferry/excursion to Tulum, Chitzen Itza, etc. from Cozumel to the
mainland those are worth visiting.

Interesting. Are you saying that the Mayan ruins are better in Belize,
or are you saying that the beaches in Cozumel are much better while
there is little else to do in Belize?

Key West isn't known for their beaches. Enjoy the other things there.

Cozumel - Expect a lot of travel time to get to the ruins but it is
supposed to be well worth it and better than the Belize ruins.

Belize - You can take a beach excursion.

The ports are Key West, Cozumel, and Belize.

We figure to just explore on our own in Key West, We will probably do
Mayan ruins in Cozumel. Any suggestions for Belize? My wife is into
water sports, I am not.

She also wants to know if there us a public beach to swim in in Key
West.

Sounds like you're going on the Enchantment? Us too...August 16. When
are you going?

Here's what we're doing. Key West - attending a wedding. That's the
purpose of the cruise. 28 of us are going on this cruise to celebrate
the wedding of some friends of ours which will be taking place at the
Wyndham in Key WEst. So, that days' pretty much filled.

Belize - We're going cave tubing with Reg.

Cozumel - We're going snorkeling early in the morning at Dzul Ha and
then heading over to one of the beach resorts (Mr. Sanchos, Paradise,
Playa Sol) for lunch and until 3:00 or so for fun in the sun. Then,
back to town for some shopping (time permitting...not even sure how
long we're in port that day).

On one visit to Cozumel, we did our own excursion to Tulum to check
out the ruins there. While it was a great day, and the ruins were
fascinating (and we loved getting out on our own), we decided that
it's just too long travel time to get over there from Cozumel, and
that we'd save further Mayan ruins exploration for when we take a
land-based vacation to the Yucatan. Cozumel has so much to offer, in
the way of great beaches, snorkeling, shopping, etc., that we see no
reason to leave the island.
