Can someone tell me about smoking in Singapore? Is it allowed
anywhere? Restaurants? Walking down the street? etc? THis may sound like an idiotic question but I do not want to get in trouble on a coming business trip to Singapore! Thanks for any information and guidance! kristina |

Just don't throw the butts on the ground. THis may sound like an idiotic question but I do not want to get in trouble on a coming business trip to Singapore! You intentionally inhale deadly poisonous smoke and you are worried about Singapore? Thanks for any information and guidance! kristina |

Also it is allowed in restaurants with outdoor eating areas. Basically the rule seems to be: no smoking indoors except pubs. And definitely no throwing the butts on the ground outdoors. |

You can smoke at the bus stops, but most taxi lines request that you
don't light up. novita77 wrote: On Thu, 21 Oct 2004 23:26:17 GMT, (Kristina) wrote: Can someone tell me about smoking in Singapore? Is it allowed anywhere? Restaurants? Walking down the street? etc? Gruss Markus -- When in danger, when in doubt, run in circles, scream and shout Hello there, I lived in Singapore for 2 yrs before came to Middle East. The impression I got you can't smoke anywhere. Either in the bus, bus stop, airport, taxi, restaurants, shops... basically anywhere there are people. And becareful... sometime they have plainclothes police... don't put ur self in trouble. Probably just best smoke in ur hotel room (make sure u ask for smoking room). |

Thanks for any information and guidance! kristina You should behave exactly the same way you behave anywhere else in the world. That is, do not smoke anywhere where your smoke might cause illness or discomfort to any other person, unless that person is an adult who has freely and explicitly consented to it without any pressure from you or anyone else. |
