Default Good, affordable hotel in Hong Kong

Hello there - I'm looking for a good, clean affordable hotel in Hong
Kong, TST, Nathan Road or HK Island. A/C, shower, tv, nice and clean
and all that (so Chungkin Mansion is out I'm afraid for a friend.

Having always rented flats in HK, I do know the city very well but
haven't got a clue about hotels. Unfortunately I'm not in HK now to
check it out myself.

Anyone who can help? Thanx a million!

Stayed at the Imperial Hotel ( nearly next door to Chungkin Mansion) , it
was clean ,quiet and cheap and a good position to tour around from. No
problems at all.

If you go to the imperial website they quote $950 but other sites suggest
400-450. Don't know quite why. Sometimes the walk-in rate is lower. The risk
is that there's no rooms. I planning a trip 500 is ok and 950 isn't.

Consider "Bishop Lei". It's on Robinson Road in Midlevels. Very nice
location(just an escalator ride down to central), although the room
quality is the equivalent of a "business hotel" in Tokyo. My apartment
used to be a few blocks from it, and I used to have my overflow guests
stay there.

Wang Fat Hostel in Causeway Bay. 280 HKD/US$ 35 a night for a single room.
