Angor Wat closure?
Someone mentioned that Angkor Wat will remain closed next year for renovation.
Can anyone confirm that? Thanks |

Angor Wat closure?
'Angkor Wat' as a generic, covers many seperate temples spread over a big
area. It takes 3 days for a 'quickie' tour as it is - even if Angkor itself is closed, which I doubt, there remains much to see and explore. "Poster" wrote in message ... Someone mentioned that Angkor Wat will remain closed next year for renovation. Can anyone confirm that? Thanks |

I'd appreciate it if anyone knows specific details, as I've already booked accommodation and flights for next March. I have no way to judge the veracity of these links, so form your own opinion. I'll still be going. First, the story: http://www.trailsofindochina.com/ind...ail&idnews=266 Then a comment in rebuttal: http://thorntree.lonelyplanet.com/me...&iCountryId=92 Finally something in a bit more depth: http://peaceofangkor.com/TemplesUpdate.htm Cheers, Alan, Australia -- http://loraltravel.blogspot.com/ latest: Slovenia http://loraltraveloz.blogspot.com/ latest: Mossman Gorge in the Daintree Rainforest |

To be more accurate, "Angkor" is the general area, "Angkor Wat" is the specific complex which is the largest and most important of the temples in Angkor. So, we should say that even if Angkor Wat is closed, there will still be much to see and explore in Angkor. |
