Default Question - ORD to HNL on UAL FC

Question for the group: I've been flying to HNL, usually on UAL from SFO and
LAX. I used to do FC on their 747s, but those are gone - mostly 757s & 767s
nowadays. I have done their 777 (used to be one each from LAX and SFO, but now
it seems only SFO). They gutted the FC cabin and it's now really Economy ++
(seating, food, service), but the prices remain at FC levels.

I do not mind paying the $'s, but not for what I've been getting the last few
flights. Business Class from SFO to LHR is way-y-y better!

Does anybody know the configuration of their non-stop ORD (O'Hare) to HNL 777?
If it's really still FC, I would be tempted to fly TED from PHX to ORD, and
connect, but all of the UAL sites, and the various seating-chart sites, that I
have found give no indication. Anybody know, or know of a URL for this sort of
info? I've written to UAL, but cannot seem to get an answer.

TIA,
Hunt

I just flew that ORD-HNL leg. Long time in the air.

I checked the seating at seatguru.com

NewsGuyMike,

Thanks for the response. I've used seatguru, com, and it's often great.
However, there are three possibilities listed for the 777-200s. The (US)
version with only FC, Econ+ and Econ, is what UAL flies from the Coast to HNL
now, but I cannot find out what the configuration is for the ORD-HNL flight,
being a fair amount longer, than the LAX, SEA, or SFO-HNL flights. I cannot
get any confirmation from UAL, so far.

Do you happen to recall the config, on your flight? The 777-200(US) config. is
really no more than Econ++, except for the significant price difference. I
hate to pay good $, and not really get anything for it. I'm not looking for
the "glory days" of the old 747-BC with a piano bar and Trader Vic, himself,
at the keyboard on the upper deck. However, I'd like to get more, than I can
by buying Econ, and letting UAL upgrade me to Econ+, because of our status.

Any observations from your flight would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Hunt
