Full-size foldup umbrella?
I'm looking for a small, collapsible umbrella that opens up larger than the
usual "Totes"-style fold-up. It needs to collapse to a small size, so it will fit easily in my computer bag, but open up large enough to really provide protection. Anyone ever seen one? Thanks. |

Full-size foldup umbrella?
Totes makes a big top folding umbrella that opens to golf size, auto open
and auto close, $25 I was looking at one over the weekend, didn't get it because I wasn't sure how something so big could fit in such a small package and hold up to the wind, but obviously it's going to be a trade off, size versus strength. In the spring I'll get one for the non wind events. "PTRAVEL" wrote in message ... I'm looking for a small, collapsible umbrella that opens up larger than the usual "Totes"-style fold-up. I actually found one at Walmart several years ago. It folds up to 12 inches and has a sturdy aluminum frame. It's stood up to many windy days in the UK. You can also find some online with a Google search. K |

No, but if you're in London you might have a look at http://www.james-smith.co.uk/ (very basic website but there's a telephone number to call). -- congokid Good restaurants in London? Their shop front still advertises sword sticks and dagger canes. I tried to buy one when I went in the shop, but sadly they're discontinued! |

Full-size foldup umbrella?
As a follow-up, this model is called the Big Top, and is available for
$16.95 plus tax and shipping from Totes website. It's exactly what I was looking for -- it opens up full size, has push-button open and close, and folds up to about a foot in length. It's heavier than "mini" collapsing umbrellas but, of course, it's much larger. It's an ideal travel umbrella. Totes has them in a variety of colors, as well as basic black.
