That sounds about right. Like with the iPhone. The early adopters payed a high price. And it was not long before the price dropped a lot. Who bought a BluRay player last Christmas when they were "only" $500? Who bought one (taking a chance) the year before at $1200? Who bought one today for $139.99? The guy at Fry's told me that Sony and Samsung are having a private little war. Samsungs for $139.99 (magic price point). Sonys next week for $124.99 (even more magic). He also said that other brands would probably go below $100 by Christmas. Finally, he said "At least I've been watching my movies in 1080p for the last two years." With a groaning smile. -- - dillon I am not invalid Money can't buy happiness. But you can rent it. |

Since you asked. I bought the networked LG BD370 for $80 at Amazon a couple of weeks ago (the deal is long since dead, it involved a great sale rice and a $50 coupon for Amazon Visa customers). Plays Netflix movies over the internet, too. I didn't need it but the price was too good to pass up. Bill |
