Love Princess But We're Taking Carnival Out of Galveston/Non-Smoking Rms

Hi. Haven't been to this newsgroup in nearly 4 years. We live in Texas and
have taken two cruises out of Galveston on the Grand Princess. Princess no
longer sails from Galveston so we've booked a cruise with Carnival
(Ecstasy). We LOVED our cruises on Princess but are kinda looking forward
to the more relaxed atmosphere this time. We're booked in U84, a grand
suite. I totally forgot to ask the travel agent if it's a non-smoking room.
Does anyone here know if Carnival offers non-smoking rooms? Any of the
agents here know if our particular room is non-smoking?

Carnival's smoking policy is the same as Princess... all cabins are
smoking optional. Has always been that way except for a few years on
the Carnival Paradise. No smoking in any of the show rooms and dining
rooms... and smoking only in designated areas on open decks and in the
casino and a few bars and lounges.

I (thought) I remembered our cabin on Princess being a non-smoking room. I
remember a couple evenings we couldn't sit out on our balcony tho because of
smoke from other balconies.
