Default Sardinia (Sardegna) - a few questions

I'm going to spend 2 weeks on Sardinia. I don't think carrying gas
cardridges is legal onboard a plane (easyJet). What gas system is popular in
Italy? What cardriges will I be able to buy? Campingaz, Primus, Karrimor?
Is it possible to hitchhike around Sardinia?
How about campings - can I leave the tent with backpacks, sleeping bags and
clothes inside? Is anybody going to steal such things? Of course, I'm
going to have the photo gear and documents with me all the time.
Thanks a lot in advance
